Introduction to Benefit Corporations and Certified B Corps

Would you be interested in investing in companies involved in publishing, marketing and distribution, Internet marketing, audio video production and other activities that foster personal development, empowerment, enlightenment and transformation?

This new corporation subtype allows entrepreneurs and investors to organize stock corporations that can pursue both economic and social objectives.

Benefit Corporations are a new class of cause-oriented corporation that:

  (1) creates a material positive impact on society and the environment;

  (2) expands fiduciary duty to require consideration of non-financial interests when making decisions;
  (3) reports on its overall social and environmental performance using recognized third party standards.

Certified B Corporations are a new type of corporation which uses the power of business
to solve social and environmental problems.  B Lab, a nonprofit organization, certifies B Corporations. There are over 500 Certified B Corporations across 60 different industries. B Corporations are a diverse community with one unifying goal:
to redefine success in business.
