Charles Betterton Author, Publisher, Stewardheir • Congratulations Marc! As a Community Economic Development specialist, I would love to participate whenever possible as I lived and worked in Illinois for over 25 years. I am especially interested in supporting passage of Benefit Corporation legislation in Illinois (and in every US State! Thanks to the work of B Lab, I believe the combination of Benefit Corporations and B Corps with the Crowd Funding provisions of the JOBS Act represent the richest opportunity in the history of the USA to "Expand the Circle of Success" for solving our social, economic and environmental challenges. In the process, we might even be able to manifest our vision of a United State of Americans and fulfill the ultimate destiny of the USA that Benjamin Franklin said was not power but light.

After learning about Benefit Corporations years ago as a member of Social Venture Network and the World Business Academy, my primary focus is helping promote and facilitate the establishment of a national network of Benefit Corporations, B Corps and affiliated non-profit Community Economic Development Empowerment Resource Centers based on the successful prototypes of Kankakee County CAN DO!, the award-winning Success Center Partnership we established with Les brown for the Muncie, IN Public Housing Authority, etc.

Through our start-up companies, (Universal Stewardheirship, Inc, the Community Economic Development Resource Center and the California CED Benefit Corporation), we also plan to establish a CED Benefit Corporation in Illinois as soon as legislation passes. Thank you again for the opportunity to join the FaceBook Group. More information on our work and possible ways we may be of service to this organization are available at http://www.universalstewardheirship.com and http://www.cedbcorp.com.
