Kankakee Community Resource Center

This is the cover of an early introductory flyer to the Community Economic Development Resource Center Charles Betterton co-founded in Kankakee through the Kankakee Community Development Corporation he had founded earlier. There are hundreds of newspaper articles printed about the Resource Center which continues to provide a broad range of community empowerment programs and which has received over 1 million dollars in funding from various sources.

One of the best overviews of the project is an article Despite Naysayers, Armory Building Lives, which reports on a Governor's Hometown Award the project received.
